- Hi All,
-
- I'm in the market for an 040 accelerator. Someone wrote to me and said
- that on the 2000s accelerator's may not run properly on a rev 4.5 or
- below 2000 motherboard. He said that a capacitor was needed. My question is
- is that true for all accelerators, i.e. if my 2000's rev 4.2 doesn't have the
- capacitor added, I shouldn't be able to run even a 2630 (Commodore's 030),
- correct?
-
- In my case, I am able to. If that's the case (i.e. that I can run
- the 2630), should I be able to run the GVP GForce 040 33MHz?
-
- Years ago, I had to get my 2000 motherboard modified at the dealer to allow me
- to use the GVP Impact Series II+8 hard card. I thought all they did was add a
- resistor to the motherboard, but since I CAN run the 2630, then perhaps the dealer, at that time, had brought my board up a rev or so.
-
- Along with your post to this group, can you please e-mail me a response, because
- I don't always have access to news.
-
- Thanks!
